The Team

International Certified Master Groomer
City & Guilds Internal Quality Assessor
Head Grooming Tutor

After a flourishing musical theatre career in London, Poppy and her husband Steve decided to take the leap and re-train for a career surrounded by dogs.
Their first business opened in 2006 and through sheer hard work and passion the pair eventually could invest and build the largest Specialist Canine Centre in the North of England at the family farm, Lancashire.
Poppy Maney ICMG re-trained to be only 1 of 40 in the UK Internationally Certified Master Groomers and decided to set up one of the best Canine Grooming Schools in the UK. It is now a City and Guilds training centre which means it can offer learners the chance to gain their Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications. So far Poppy has had students from New Zealand, Dubai, Turkey, Canada, Ireland, Sweden, Malta, Iceland and students from throughout the UK coming to train with Poppy and the team.
Poppy has formed associations with Myerscough college and works alongside them to offer their dog grooming courses at our centre.
All this has been created and built whilst having 4 children also !!

Steve has been opening and building canine businesses for 20 years. He started his dog grooming training in 2006, and he and Poppy opened their first high street store shortly afterwards. Two more high street stores followed. Four years later, Steve and Poppy sold up and moved back to the Ribble Valley in Lancashire. Steve retrained as a qualified canine hydrotherapist and opened Canine Health & Hydro, now the biggest canine hydrotherapy centre in the north of England. At the same time, Poppy and Steve opened Canine Groom School, an international grooming school and the only grooming school in the country with UK government training provider status, enabling the school to facilitate dog-related apprenticeships with businesses throughout England. Steve’s main role now is heading up sales and marketing for Canine Groom School’s apprenticeship service and private tuition.
